How much should I tip?

If you’re happy with the services provided a tip is appropriate, though it’s not compulsory.

While conventions can vary from country to country, tipping is customary in Europe. A general rule is 5%- 10% of the bill for wait staff, and a smaller amount (€1 or €2) for other service providers.

Our recommendation for tipping is as follows:

  • local guides would range from €2-4
  • Driver €1-2 per day

Of course you are free to tip more or less as you see fit, depending on your perception of service quality and the length of your trip. Remember, a tip is not compulsory and should only be given when you receive excellent service.
